Salesian Society
Western Province
Inspired by Don Bosco’s motto: “Give me souls, take away the rest,” we bring the Gospel to the world, especially the young, the poor, and the troubled.

We are called by God and inspired by Don Bosco and the pioneer Salesians who began the mission of the San Francisco Province in 1897. We are a Catholic community of Brothers and Priests living together in America’s pluralistic and rapidly changing society who accomplish our mission empowered by fraternal life and life-long formation.

Our priority is youth ministry in the context of the Church’s total ministry. The spirit of our founder Don Bosco, a spirit of loving kindness, of joyful optimism and evangelical zeal characterize our ministry. We help all, especially the young, become productive members of society and of the Church and animate the Salesian Family and others who share our mission.

“To help the young and the poor I have only my good will. I rely on your charity for the means.”
-St. John Bosco
